5 Tasty Christmas Gifts to Make With Your Kids

December is well and truly here and Christmas is on its way!

Sharing a love for food and cooking with your children has numerous benefits, and there’s something about Christmas baking that makes it feel even more special. So to help you choose the best dishes to whip up, I’ve put together a list of my favourite tasty treats that are totable and easily wrapped up as gifts (if they make it out the door before being gobbled up!).

Each of these dishes has tasks your kids can do no matter their age, so delegate some kitchen jobs suitable for your child’s ability such as stirring, chopping or measuring ingredients. With a little help and supervision, older children may even be able to follow a simple recipe from start to finish. Younger children will be able to help out with mixing and kneading dough, cutting out gingerbread shapes or rolling bliss balls.

Not only is baking Christmas goodies a fun activity, but children will find that giving these as gifts to teachers, family and friends is even more fun when they’ve made them themselves!

Vegan Gingerbread Biscuits (this recipe is available in our Festive Faves recipe bundle)

It wouldn’t be Christmas without gingerbread! If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to balance out all of those sugary treats, check out these fun and delicious gingerbread biscuits packed with almond butter for a protein hit!

Beetroot and Spinach Bliss Balls

These delicious and unique bliss balls make a brilliant edible gift that are simple enough for little hands to get involved in making. They’re packed with vitamin C, fibre and phytonutrients, plus they are gluten-free too!

Fruit Mince Pies (this recipe is available in our Festive Faves recipe bundle)

Traditional mince pies are on everyone’s Christmas wish list. These tasty gluten-free mince pies are not only yummy in the tummy, but they’re jam-packed with nutrients and loaded with veggies too. Yes, that’s right – beetroot and carrot are included in the fruit mince for an extra dose of vitamin C and Beta-carotene, just what the doctor ordered – especially, around the festive time!

Bliss Ball Cake Pops

These Cake Pops are a great celebratory gift for all occasions! They’re school and allergy-friendly using a seed base (instead of nuts), plus they’re packed full of zinc, calcium and antioxidants so while they taste naughty, they’re totally nourishing. Remove the lollipop sticks and package them up in a jar, or keep the sticks and make a delicious Christmas bouquet!

Chocolate Quinoa Crackles

These crackles are great as a gift as they’re made in their own mini muffin holders! By using a combo of cacao powder, maple syrup and puffed quinoa they’re a perfect way to satisfy sweet chocolate cravings during the silly season.
