Even the most well-meaning parents often don’t have the time to lovingly prepare every meal with an abundance of fresh produce, and that’s why we have overhauled our popular supercharged bolognese recipe with a quick and easy version. But don’t worry, with our Veggies+ booster added to the sauce, your child will still receive the goodness of over 15 veggies and supercharged greens - and the best part, it tastes delicious!!

Please note: Veggies+ powder is manufactured in a facility that also processes products containing milk, fish, shellfish, crustacea, eggs, soy, tree nuts, lupin, and sesame.
1 tbs (20ml) extra virgin olive oil
1 brown onion (110g), peeled and finely diced
2 garlic cloves (20g), peeled and finely diced
2 stalks of celery (120g), rinsed and finely chopped
500g lean beef mince
1 tbs (4g) dried oregano
800g diced tomatoes
3 tbs (60g) tomato paste
4 tbs (40g) Veggies+ powder
Sea salt and pepper, to taste
In a large pot, heat oil on medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until transparent.
Add celery and sauté for 3-4 mins or until soft.
Add beef mince and stir until the mince is cooked and no pink pieces can be seen.
Add oregano, diced tomatoes and the tomato paste. Allow to simmer covered on low heat for 25 mins.
Remove from heat, add Veggies+ and season with salt and pepper (optional).
Serve with cooked pasta of choice.
Serving and storing leftovers: Serve immediately, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 4 months.
- Add 1 grated carrot to the mince along with the diced tomato.
- Add 1 grated zucchini to the mince along with the diced tomato.
- Add 1 cup of cauliflower or pumpkin puree to the mince along with the diced tomato.
- Add 1 peeled and grated apple to the mince before adding the diced tomato.
Allergy advice and simple swaps:
- Swap onion for a finely diced leek.
- Swap diced tomatoes for tomato passata.
