These 6-ingredient Banana Oatmeal Fingers are perfect for babies who are transitioning on to solids. The mashed banana makes them naturally sweet and a soft texture so they’ll go down a treat! Feel free to bake them a little longer for older children and add them to lunchboxes as snacks. Rolled oats are high in fibre and protein so these Fingers will keep little tummies full of slow-release energy, while the dash of cinnamon helps to keep blood sugar levels steady.

Ingredients

Method

½ cup rolled oats
1 tsp coconut oil, melted
1 ripe banana, mashed
2 tsp chia seeds
3 tsp flaxseed meal
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine all ingredients and mash.
3. Place batter between two sheets of baking paper and roll out to 0.5 cm thickness using a rolling pin.
4. Take top sheet off and bake in oven for 15-20 mins.
5. Allow to cool, then cut into fingers.

Tip:
For a gluten-free version swap oats for gluten-free oats or ¾ - 1 cup quinoa flakes. Serve immediately, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 4 months.
