Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Chocolate mousse with a delicious healthy fat boosting twist. Never too young or old to enjoy this yummy mousse. Serve as a treat for breakfast on the weekend, an after-school snack or a healthy after dinner dessert. For an extra fun option, place mousse in popsicle moulds and freeze. I love adding avocado to children’s diets as it is an excellent source of monounsaturated heart-healthy fats. So be sure to make extra for the whole family to enjoy.

Ingredients

Method


1 large ripe avocado
½ ripe banana, frozen
½ cup (125ml) coconut milk
2-4 tbs raw cacao powder
½ tsp vanilla powder or extract
2 tbs maple syrup
1. Place all ingredients in a high-speed food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
2. Pour in small serving containers of choice and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.

Tip:
Serving suggestion (optional): Serve in a glass and layer with whipped coconut cream and raspberry chia jam or fresh raspberries. Serve immediately, store in the fridge for up to 2 days or freeze in popsicle moulds for up to 4 months.
