Chocolate Cinnamon Date Balls

These balls contain two of my favourite things – cinnamon and chocolatey goodness. They’re high in protein, fibre and antioxidants and the ultimate healthy treat. I love serving them on play dates or to hungry mouths on the after school pick up run. I always make sure there are extras for the mums and myself!

Ingredients

Method


1 cup (265g) Medjool dates, pitted
1 tbs almond butter
1 tbs coconut oil
1 tbs raw cacao
1 tbs carob powder
1 tsp vanilla powder or extract
1 tbs gelatine powder (optional)
¾ cup (90g) almond meal
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
Extra carob to roll balls in (optional)


Equipment
High-speed food processor
1. Place dates, almond butter and coconut oil into a high-speed food processor and process until smooth.
2. Add rest of the ingredients and process until well combined.
3. Roll into little balls and then roll into carob (optional).

Tip:
For a school friendly version swap nut butter for seed butter and almond meal for seed meal. Serve immediately or keep bliss balls in the freezer for up to 6 months.
