Tahini Carrot & Date Bliss Balls

These calcium-rich protein packed bliss balls are a perfect snack to satisfy any sweet tooth. Initially developed for daycares, these have become a firm favourite amongst my family too. Tahini (ground sesame seeds) is an excellent non-dairy calcium source and can be included from 6 months onwards (as long as no indication of allergy).

Ingredients

Method


1 ½ cup mixed seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, chia)
½ cup rolled oats
1 ½ cup Medjool dates, pitted
1 tbs maple syrup (optional)
1/3 cup tahini
½ cup (carrots, grated)
1. Place seeds and oats into a high speed food processor and process until it resembles breadcrumbs.
2. Add rest of the ingredients and process until well combined.
3. Roll into small balls, then place in the fridge or freezer for 30 mins before serving.

Tip:
Serve immediately, store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 4 months. For a gluten-free version use 1 cup of gluten-free oats, quinoa flakes or almond meal to replace the oats.
